Almost But Lost

ALMOST: BUT LOST

ACTS 26:24-31

INTRODUCTION:

            A.        If man is condemned, he will be lost forever; Matthew 25:46

            B.         Something you do, or fail to do; Romans 6:23; Matthew 7:21

            C.        In Agrippa’s case one word made the difference; “Almost”

                        1.         Paul before Agrippa; Acts 26:27-28

                        2.         Position, pride, and human admirers

            D.        “Almost”, a little word, but what a depth of meaning

            E.         Today, a look at some reasons for and results of being “Almost” persuaded

 

  1. SOME WHO ARE ALMOST A CHRISTIAN:

            A.        One living within a Christian environment; John 3:3-5

            B.         One who has Christian principles; Acts 10:1-3

            C.        One who partially obeys the commands; Luke 6:46; Mark 16:16

            D.        One who intends to accept Christ “someday”; II Corinthians 6:2

            E.         These should be Christians instead of “Almost”

 

 II.        WHY SOME REMAIN ALMOST A CHRISTIAN:

            A.        Some do not realize their lost condition; John 3:36

            B.         They are afraid of ridicule; Luke 9:26

            C.        Some are unwilling to relinquish sin; Romans 6:23

            D.        Many are afraid they cannot overcome sin; Philippians 4:13

            E.         No sin should be so great as to keep a soul out of heaven; Luke 14:26-28

 

III.       RESULTS OF REMAINING ALMOST A CHRISTIAN:      

            A.        No peace; Philippians 4:7

            B.         No pardon; Acts 4:12

            C.        No Power; Romans 4:24

            D.        No title to heaven; Revelation 21:27

            E.         These gifts can be yours only if you are FULLY persuaded; Acts 26:29

 

CONCLUSION:

            A.        Are you almost a Christian?

            B.         The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come”!
