Let God Help When You Are Feeling Weak

“Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee: yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness,” (Isaiah 41:10).

Life is not always easy!  There are many hard roads which we are called upon to travel. Yet if we are God’s children, He promises to be with us no matter how hard the path may be, (Matthew 28:18-20). The writer in the letter to the Romans brethren stated, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered,” (Romans 8:26).

Regardless of the outward circumstances Paul was able to say, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content,” (Philippians 4:11).  He also stated, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me,” (Philippians 4:13).

When you are feeling weak, remember that God is on your side. Paul told the brethren at Philippi, “Be careful (don’t be anxious) for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God,” (Philippians 4:6).

Friends, if we would overcome spiritual weakness we must put out trust in God.  He has promised to supply our need. Paul wrote, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 4:19).  If we will put our trust in Him, He will direct our ways, (Proverbs 3:5, 6).  Even in the darkest hours of life God will protect those who belong to Him. The apostle Paul had asked God to remove the thorn that plagued his flesh; yet, God stated, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Paul concluded, “Therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong,” (II Corinthians 12:9, 10).

When you are feeling weak Peter tells us to cast our cares on the Lord, “Casting all your care upon Him; for he careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7). Paul asked the question, “If god be fore us, who can be against us,” (Romans 8:31)?

When you are feeling weak, let God be your sustaining force!
