D. Our study deals with the thought “Hide Your Life In Christ”
I. THE CONTEXT:
A. Paul points out that those who have “been raised with Christ” are complete; Colossians 2:6-7, 10
1. “Dead to the world”; Colossians 2:18
2. “Mortify” (put to death) evil practices; Colossians 3:5
B. “Heaven Bound” souls are separated from the old life; Colossians 3:8-9
C. The life “hid in Christ” will be lived as a new man; Colossians 3:10;
II Corinthians 5:17
II. WHAT IS A LIFE HID IN CHRIST?
A. A life with a goal or objective to “live Christ”; Philippians 1:21
1. A life in which Christ is allowed to live; Colossians 1:27
2. A life under the control of Christ; Colossians 3:16-17
B. The purpose is to serve Christ; James 1:22; Hebrews 9:14
C. “A Life Hid In Christ” will be lived:
1. In sexual purity; Colossians 3:5
2. Seeking emotional balance; Colossians 3:8-9
3. To help others; Colossians 3:12-13
4. In love; Colossians 3:14
5. In peace; Colossians 3:15; Romans 12:18
III. WHEN CHRIST, OUR LIFE, SHALL APPEAR: Colossians 3:4
A. No man knows; II Peter 3:10-12
1. The dead will be raised; I Thessalonians 4:13-16
2. “The earth will be burned up”; II Peter 3:10
3. Judgment Day will become a reality; Matthew 25:31-46
B. Those whose lives have been lived for Christ will receive a new body;
Philippians 3:20-21; I John 3:1-3; II Corinthians 5:1, 8
