HELL
REVELATION 20:11-15
INTRODUCTION:
A. Many only want to see a God of love
1. Jesus stated; John 3:16-17
2. Peter wrote; II Peter 3:9
B. God promises both reward and punishment; Matthew 25:46
1. The Lord’s judgment will be just; II Corinthians 5:10
2. Contrary to popular belief God’s judgment is final; Revelation 20:14-15
C. Our study “HELL”
I. WHAT IS HELL?
A. Hell is a prepared place
1. Prepared for the devil and his angels; Matthew 25:41
2. A place of everlasting tribulation and destruction; II Thessalonians 1:4-9
B. All of humanity, whose names are not written in the book of life will be there; Revelation 21:15
C. The place of the second death; Hebrews 9:27
1. John wrote; Revelation 20:14
2. God will not dwell in hell; I John 1:5
II. HELL IS JUST AS REAL AS HEAVEN:
A. God will judge in righteousness and with justice; II Thessalonians 1:4
1. The Hebrew writer warned; Hebrews 10:30-31
2. The Roman letter tells us; Romans 12:19-21
B. Jesus attested to the reality of hell; Luke 12:5
C. The mind of man cannot fully comprehend the horrors of hell
1. A place of outer darkness, no righteousness there; Matthew 25:30
2. A lake of fire; Revelation 20:14
3. A place that is eternal; Revelation 14:11
III. HELL: SEEN THROUGH A MAN IN HADES; Luke 16:19-31
A. The rich man was in torment; Luke 16:23
1. He wanted just a drop of goodness (water) to cool his agony; Luke 16:24
2. Abraham told him there would be no relief; Luke 16:25-26
B. The rich man remembered his former life and asked that his brothers be warned; Luke 16:27-31
C. Jesus warns that there is no profit in life if a man loses his soul; Mark 8:36
CONCLUSION:
A. We are rapidly travelling toward eternity: “Are You On The Right Road”?
B. Will heaven or hell be your final destination?
