BEND, BOW, OR BURN
DANIEL 3:1-7
INTRODUCTION:
A. Through history many have made laws that prevent true worship:
1. Darius, king of the Medes; Daniel 6:7
2. Daniel continued to pray to God; Daniel 6:11
3 The king wanted to save Daniel; Daniel 6:14-16
4. God saved Daniel; Daniel 6:17-24
B. Our lesson is a story of God’s deliverance; Daniel 3
C. Our topic “Bend, Bow, or Burn”
I. A DECREE FROM NEBUCHADNEZZAR: Daniel 3:1-7
A. The decree is signed; Daniel 3:4-5
1. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would not bend to the decree;
Daniel 3:12
2. These three would not bow and worship a false god; Daniel 3:12
B. The kings warning; Daniel 3:14-15
1. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answer; Daniel 3:16-18
2. The king orders that they be cast into the furnace; Daniel 3:21-22
C. God delivers Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; Daniel 3:24-26
1. These men would not burn; Daniel 3:27
2. Nebuchadnezzar’s declaration; Daniel 3:28
3. A new decree; Daniel 3:29
II. MANY TODAY DESIRE TO BE FREE OF GOD: I Timothy 4:1-2

III.NEBUCHADNEZZAR SAID “BEND, BOW, OR BURN”: Daniel 3:15
A. He asked; “Who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?”
B. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted God; Daniel 6:17
C. God tells man to “Bend, Bow, or Burn”:
1. James wrote; James 4:10
2. Jesus states that we must obey God; Matthew 7:21
3. Jesus also stated; John 12:44-48
4. John recorded; Revelation 20:12-15
CONCLUSION:
A. You have a choice to make:
1. Will you obey the gospel of Christ? Romans 1:16-17
2. Will you choose the wrath of God? Romans 1:18
