Description

INTRODUCTION:

            A.        The condition of the Jews and the holy city Jerusalem; Lamentations 1:7-10

            B.        The Lord has set Himself against Jerusalem; Lamentations 1:15

            C.        No one seems to care, the weeping prophet asks, “Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by”? Lamentations 1:12

            D.        The world today is a lot like Jerusalem, Christians often lose sight of their mission; Matthew 28:19-20

            E.         We must ask ourselves: “Do We Really Care?”

 

I           DO WE REALLY CARE THAT THE WORLD IS LOST?

            A.        All have sinned and come under condemnation; Romans 3:23; 6:23; Galatians 3:22

            B.        Even God’s children sin; Galatians 5:4; I John 1:7-10; 2:1-2;

            C.        Many would go into a burning building to rescue a neighbor, yet; Revelation 21:8

 

II.        DO WE REALLY CARE THAT CHRIST SUFFERED AND DIED FOR MANKIND?

 

           A.         This great love was for you and all men; I John 4:9-12

           B.          The Romans writer stated; Romans 5:5-11

           C.         Jesus died for the church; Ephesians 5:22-32

           D.         Will we allow His death to be in vain?  I Corinthians 15:12-14

 

III.       DO WE REALLY CARE OR UNDERSTAND THAT ALL OF MANKIND WILL  FACE  JUDGMENT?  II Corinthians 5:10

            A.        Jesus is coming again; John 14:1-3

                        1.         The angels promised His return; Acts 1:11

                        2.         Paul said he would come with vengeance; II Thessalonians 1:8

            B.        When Jesus comes He will bring judgment; Hebrews 9:27; Acts 17:30-31

                        1.         All will be judged; II Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:12

                        2.         Pictures of the judgment; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 22:12-15

 

CONCLUSION:

            A.         Jeremiah, the prophet wept for Jerusalem and taught her God’s ways; Lamentations 1:12

            B.         Who will weep for mankind today, if not the church? James 4:8-10

            C.         We must, like Isaiah, say, “Here Am I,  Send Me”; Isaiah 6:8
