INTRODUCTION:
 
     A. The church is the greatest institution on earth:
               1. The church belongs to Christ; Matthew 16:18
               2. The church has the greatest mission given to mankind; Mark 16:15-16
               3. The life of her members is the greatest life that can be lived; I Timothy 6:12
 
     B. If we are to complete our task we must work together to be like Christ
     C. Our topic “Helping The Church to Grow”
 
I. THE WORLD MUST SEE THE CHURCH IN A FAVORABLE LIGHT:
     A. The life of the church depends upon this fact; Romans 8:13; Ephesians 4:15-16
              1. The example of the apostles; Acts 4:13
              2. Jesus stated; Matthew 5:14
              3. Paul told the church at Corinth; II Corinthians 3:2
     B. Members of the church must be of a spiritual mind; Romans 8:6, 9
              1. We are to abstain from the appearance of evil; Romans 12:9; I Thessalonians 5:22
              2. We are to grasp every opportunity to do good; Galatians 6:10; Hebrews 13:16
 
II. MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH MUST PARTICIPATE IN SPIRITUAL WORKS: I Corinthians 3:9
     A. Early church example; Acts 8:4; 2:46
     B. God’s design for the church; Ephesians 4:12-13
     C. Activities of the members: I Thessalonians 5:14
              1. Reclaim the fallen; James 5:19-20
              2. Restore the erring; Galatians 6:1
              3. Bear one another’s burdens; Galatians 6:2
              4. Help those in need; I John 3:17
     D. We must work together to prevent division in the body; I Corinthians 1:10; 12:25-26
 
CONCLUSION:
     A. The members of the church must not be idle; I Timothy 5:13
     B. When one member refuses to do his part he robs others of vital energy necessary for full growth and maturity; Ephesians 4:16
