INTRODUCTION;

            A.        Eternity “infinite duration; immortality; everlasting perpetual existence at all times”

            B.         Two periods:  Time and eternity

            C.        Our study “Life, Death, and Eternity”

 

  I.        THE SOUL OF MAN IS ETERNAL: Matthew 25:46

            A.        We are like God in this; Genesis 1:27; 2:7

            B.         We belong to God; I Corinthians 6:20

            C.        Our bodies will be changed for eternity; II Corinthians 5:1

            D.        There will be two conditions of humanity in eternity:

                        1.         Some will enjoy indescribable happiness; Revelation 7:9-17

                        2.         Others will suffer unutterable misery; Revelation 20:9-15

            E.         Solomon wrote; Ecclesiastes 3:21

 

 II.        LIFE AND TIME GIVEN TO PREPARE FOR ETERNITY:

            A.        Jesus told the multitude; Matthew 7:21-23

            B.         Luke 24:47; Romans 6:17

            C.        Paul told Titus; Titus 2:12

            D.        Be faithful until the end; Revelation 2:10

 

III.       DEATH IS THE GATEWAY TO ETERNITY:

            A.        A reality that mankind cannot change; Hebrews 9:27

            B.         The lips of those who died and rose from death were sealed:

                        1.         Lazarus did not tell of an after death experience; John 11

                        2.         Jairus’ daughter was silent concerning her death; Mark 5

                        3.         The Shunamite’s son; II Kings 4

                        2.         The cry and disappointment of those who go unprepared;
