INTRODUCTION:

      A. Man is cleansed and renewed of God in Christ; I Corinthians 6:11

            1. Christians have been washed in the blood; Hebrews 10:19-22

            2. Christians have been added to the Lord; Acts 5:14; 2:46

            3. One must remain faithful to have salvation; Revelation 2:10; Ephesians 4:16

      B. Our lesson: “You are Not Your Own”

I. YOU WERE BOUGHT AT A GREAT PRICE: I Corinthians 6:20

      A. The Old Law had to be fulfilled; Acts 3:18

            1. Jesus took it away; Hebrews 10:9

            2. He is able to forgive sins; Colossians 2:13-14

      B. The price of my/your salvation; Hebrews 9:23-25, 28

            1. He sacrificed His body; Hebrews 10:5, 9-12

            2. He shed His blood; Hebrews 10:19-20; Matthew 26:28

II. A CHRISTIAN HAS BEEN JOINED TO THE LORD: I Corinthians 6:17

      A. Each Christian is a member of Christ’s body; I Corinthians 6:15

            1. The body is to be used to serve the Lord; I Corinthians 6:13-16

             2. The body is for the Lord; Romans 12:1

      B. Each member is to keep himself pure; I Corinthians 6:15-16

      C. The body is the temple of the Spirit; I Corinthians 6:19

III. “YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN”: I Corinthians 6:19

      A. The body is of God and is for God; I Corinthians 6:13

            1. A temporary dwelling place; Ecclesiastes 12:7

            2. An earthly house; II Corinthians 5:1

            3. The body will be changed; I Corinthians 15:50-54

      B. Man is to use his body to glorify God; I Corinthians 6:20

      C. Both the body and the spirit belong to God; Ecclesiastes 12:7

CONCLUSION:

      A. God gave us life; Genesis 2:7

      B. God sustains our life; Acts 17:28

      C. What are you doing to glorify God?
