INTRODUCTION:
A. The Hebrew word “kawdoshé” is defined “sacred; as a noun God (by eminence); a sanctuary (Holy One)”; also “saint; angel”
B. The Greek word “hagiƏs” means “sacred; blameless; holy; saint”
C. God is inherently holy; it is His nature; Psalms 99:3
1. Man is made holy (blameless) by the blood of Christ; I Peter 1:3
2. Peter wrote; I Peter 1:15-16
D. Our lesson “The Lord Our God is Holy”
 
I. HOLINESS IS GOD’S NATURE: Psalms 99:2
A. His name is to be praised; Psalms 99:3
1. He is to be worshipped; Psalms 99:5
2. God’s people will revere Him; Psalms 99:9
B. The example of Jesus; I Peter 2:21-23
1. Christians are privileged to be formed in His image; Romans 8:29
2. Paul told the brethren at Philippi; Philippians 2:5
 
II. IT IS A JOY TO WORSHIP GOD: Psalms 100:1
A. He made us and cares for our needs; Psalms 100:3
B. He forgives those who keep His will; Psalms 99:6-8
1. The righteous gladly serve Him; Psalms 100:2
2. The psalmist wrote; Psalms 100:2, 4
C. The joy of anticipating worship belongs to all God’s people; Hebrews 12:2
D. The righteous rejoice in gathering with the saints, knowing that God is also withthem; I John 1:3
 
III. AS GOD IS HOLY, SO HIS WORD IS HOLY:
A. Paul stated that God cannot lie; Titus 1:2
1. God has preserved His word for all generations; I Peter 1:25
2. The psalmist wrote; Psalms 100:5
B. Paul told the brethren at Rome; Romans 7:12
1. The word of God will sanctify all who obey it; John 17:17
2. The truth can set you free from sin and its reward; John 8:32
 
CONCLUSION:
A. God wants every man to be saved; II Peter 3:9
B. Are you protected by the blood of Christ? Psalms 100:3
C. Are you obeying the will of the Father in heaven? Matthew 7:21
