            A.        All qualities admired in men are possessed of God; II Peter 1:3-4

            B.        Grace, an attribute seldom considered; Ephesians 2:8

            C.        Many erroneous ideas concerning God’s grace; “Free ride into heaven”

            D.        A look at what the inspired word says about God’s grace

            E.        “Khar-ece” = “Grace; favor; compassion; unmerited favor; an unearned gift” (Must be something beneficial): “The Amazing Grace of God”

I.          WHAT MAKES GRACE AMAZING?

            A.        Grace; “unmerited favor” cannot be earned – undeserved; Romans 5:6

            B.        The abundant supply; Romans 5:20; I Timothy 1:13-16

            C.        The rich supply that is offered; Ephesians 1:7; 2:7

            D.        None too vile that he cannot receive it; Ephesians 2:5

II.        WHAT GRACE HAS AND CAN DO FOR US:

            A.         Caused God to prepare a plan; II Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5

            B.         Caused Christ to die; Hebrews 2:9

            C.         Grace forgives; Ephesians 1:7; Romans 6:23

            D.         Grace to help; Hebrews 4:16

            E.         Grace teaches; Titus 2:11-12

                        1.         The word of  grace; Acts 15:3; Colossians 1:5-6

                        2.          Some things attributed to grace:

                                     a.         Salvation; Ephesians 2:5; Romans 1:16

                                     b.         Believing; Acts 18:27; Romans 10:17

                                     c.         Consolation and hope; II Thessalonians 2:16

                                     d.         Called by grace; II Timothy 1:9; II Thessalonians 2:14

                                     e.         Must continue in grace; Acts 13:43; Colossians 1:23

III.       GRACE AND SALVATION:

             A.        Salvation has both a Divine and a human side; Romans 6:23; Acts 2:40

                        1.          Grace:  the Divine side; Ephesians 2:8-9

                        2.          Faith and washing, man’s responsibility; Mark 16:15-16

             B.        Grace does not eliminate works; Romans 4:4; Genesis 6:8; Hebrews 11:7

             C.        Grace reigns through righteousness; Romans 5:21; 10:1-3; 1:16-17; Luke 1:6

CONCLUSION:

             A.        Salvation is a “free gift of God” bestowed on the obedient; Titus 2:13-14

             B.        “Jesus gave His life a ransom”; will you give yours in return? Romans 12:1- 2
