I. WE SHOULD GIVE THANKS TO GOD FOR SENDING JESUS: John 3:16-17

             A. His was an unspeakable gift; II Corinthians 9:15

             B. Jesus came to save sinners; I Timothy 1:15

             C. The Mediator between God and man; I Timothy 2:5

II. GIVE THANKS TO GOD FOR SALVATION FREELY OFFERED: Romans 5:8

            A. Salvation, by grace, for all who obey; Titus 2:11; Matthew 7:21

            B. Salvation, by faith, expressed in submission; I Peter 1:5; II Thessalonians 1:7-9

            C. Salvation, eternal life, for the obedient; Hebrews 5:9; Revelation 2:10

III. GIVE THANKS FOR THE NEARNESS OF HIS PRESENCE: Psalm 75:1; Hebrews 13:5

           A. His presence promised; Matthew 28:20

           B. “In the midst”; Matthew 18:20

IV. GIVE THANKS FOR THE WORD AND THE HOPE IT BRINGS: John 17:17
